Join us for the premiere of the short film ‘The Holy Yield’ taking place in London’s historic Regent Street Cinema on June 3rd.
“The Holy Yield” tells the story of Jeremy, a construction planner whose morals are challenged when he is ordered to build an apartment block over the ruins of an ancient Catholic monastery. Entirely shot on 16mm Kodak film with an Arriflex camera from the 1960s, the short explores the tension between tradition and modernity with a touch of dark humour.
The premiere will begin with a brief introduction, followed by the screening of the film. Afterwards, there will be a short discussion on its production, finishing off with some drinks at the cinema’s bar.
Our screening will take place at the Regent Street Cinema, an independent cinema located on Regent Street, in Central London. Opened in 1848 and regarded as “the birthplace of British cinema”, it featured the first motion picture shown in the United Kingdom.
